At each Council meeting there is the opportunity for any Councillor to ask questions of the Executive. Questions fall into two categories: General Questions which can be about any aspect of the Councilís activities or policies or Ward Questions about specific issues in an area. The initial questions must be notified to the Executive in advance and a written answer is prepared for delivery at the Council meeting. Councillors are allowed to follow up the answer with one supplementary question.
In addition to questions, Councillors may propose Motions on any subject to allow the Council to debate a specific issue. Motions must submitted over a week before the Council meeting, so that they can be included in the Agenda of the meeting. Motions may be amended at the meeting and are voted on by all Councillors.
